Vintage Andrea by Sadek Kutani Geese, Japanese Porcelain Pair
Some pieces stop you in your tracks — these were two of them.
Found at a high-end collector's estate sale, these magnificent geese had a crowd around them. And for good reason. In all my years of collecting, I rarely come across something this exquisite, this complete, and in this condition. I won't pretend it was easy to let them go.
An extraordinary and rare find — a matched pair of large vintage Kutani porcelain geese by the prestigious Andrea by Sadek collection. Hand-painted in vibrant enamel with a stunning Chinoiserie Chic, Famille Rose palette — turquoise, chartreuse, terracotta, salmon pink, and blue — with gold detailing throughout the body, neck, and head. This collector pair of geese, in their excellent vintage condition, value range can range from low $200s up to around $850-$900 respectively.
What makes this pair exceptionally rare: both geese have complementary matching colored necks, a feature considered very uncommon. Authenticated by the red stamp on the web feet — a marking discontinued by Japan in the early 1950s, confirming their true vintage circa 1945–1950s.
