Vintage Pair of Large Andrea by Sadek Kutani Geese
Vintage Japanese Kutani porcelain with hand painted Enamel, Chinoiserie chic, Famille Rose palette in the turquoise profile using chartreuse, terracotta, salmon pink, blue. They both have complementary same colored necks which are considered very rare.
Throughout the body and neck is painted gold surrounding each painted feathers. The gold is also on the top of their heads. The salmon pink is the color of the web feet and nails. The taller goose is 15 inches tall and 12 inches wide/long, the shorter goose is again 12 inches long/wide and 12 inches tall. These geese are in exceptional condition given their vintage Circa@1945-1950s. After the early 1950s Japan discontinued the red stamp and writing on bottom of web feet and starting using paper and foil labels; so the existence of these markings are authentication/verification of their real true vintage.
I have included photos here to show the of the bottom of their feet and their underneath body. There are on each goose, 2 round areas which are how the hand blown glaze potters include a round area intentionally for critical structure and firing security.
There is some minor amount of paint aging of the body on the shorter goose which is considered totally normal for the vintage of these two exceptional geese. I Included many photos so you could see the clarity and beauty of these geese.
Kutani is a famous region of Japan known for producing many high quality exports for the Charles Sadek Company.
These 2 special geese are definitely a collectible to treasure.
